Nucleora, for writers
and editors.

Boilerplate you can paste, the figures you can check, and the images you can use. Every figure on this page is re-derived from the source at the last release commit, and the command that produces it sits next to it in this page's source.

Short, medium and long. Use the one that fits.

Each version is a complete description. You can quote any of them without asking.

Nucleora is a DNA and mRNA design studio recording the formula, code path and sources behind each of its 517 documented calculations, 239 flagged heuristic.

50 words

Nucleora is a design studio for coding DNA and mRNA constructs. Each of its 517 documented calculations records its formula, code path and sources, and 239 are flagged as heuristics where the number appears. The studio runs on Nucleora's servers, in closed testing. Four free calculators run in your browser.

Nucleora is a design studio for coding DNA and mRNA constructs: gene or antigen in, codon-optimised and folding-checked construct out, with cloning, primer, CRISPR and QC tools around it. Folding uses Zuker MFE and the McCaskill partition function on Turner 2004 parameters, primer melting temperatures use SantaLucia 1998 nearest-neighbour thermodynamics, and Golden Gate scoring reads the full Potapov 2018 overhang matrix. Each of its 517 documented calculations records its formula, code path and sources, and 239 are flagged as heuristics. Nucleora runs on its own servers and is in closed testing, with access on request. For research and education use.

Counted from the code, not from a slide.

Each figure is produced by _internal/qa/claims_register.py run against the last release commit. A test fails when a published figure and the code disagree.

How it runs: Nucleora is a web application at app.nucleora.org, with a desktop app that loads it. Computation runs on Nucleora's servers. The desktop app stores no credentials and no copies of your work on the machine. Nucleora is in closed testing and access is on request. Methods: RNA folding uses Zuker MFE and the McCaskill partition function on Turner 2004 parameters. Primer melting temperature uses SantaLucia 1998 nearest-neighbour thermodynamics. Golden Gate overhang fidelity uses the Potapov 2018 matrix. Files: FASTA, GenBank, EMBL, SnapGene .dna, SBOL2 and SBOL3. Databases: Ensembl, NCBI and UniProt, named for interoperability only.

NO regulatory or clinical claim

  • Nucleora is not a medical device and holds no regulatory clearance, certification or validation of any kind.
  • It does not diagnose, treat or prevent anything, and it does not assess biosafety, immunogenicity or off-target effects in a living system.
  • Constructs for cells, animals or people go through the user's own biosafety review.

NO performance claim

  • No claim that a design will work at the bench. The scientist still tests every design experimentally.
  • No accuracy figures, benchmark results or speed comparisons. None has been measured, so none is published.
  • Where a calculation is a heuristic, the product says so.

NO social proof

  • No user, customer or download counts, no named labs, no testimonials, no awards. There are none to report truthfully.
  • No uptime or reliability figures. The software is provided as is.
